These work well for monitoring the house when away. The app and viewing function work well. Notifications can be turned off easily so you’re not bombarded, and with a micro sd card you can view longer segments of recorded activity on the app. They do one weird thing and that is click rather loudly at dawn and dusk. I’d prefer an outdoor version as they all point at the exterior of the house, but they don’t see thru windows well unless you knock down reflections in the glass. The night vision LEDs glare off the glass if they’re turned on at night, so they have to be turned off to have a usable image if pointed out a window. I tried gluing a rubber O ring around the lens so I could press it against a window and eliminate glare and reflections and that worked out good not great.

I did the research for you. Let me tell you. I tried zmodo cameras. I tried ezviz cameras. I tried Samsung and tp link. I have also tried various ip cameras. They all worked okay. But had issues. Lastly I tried yi.
If you read other reviews that complain of 6 second clips, I assure you, all you need to do is click on “view full clip”. You will have video of the entire motion. You do not need cloud service. I have three yi cams with 8gb cards. And with all the motion at my place, it works fine. I am uploading a video that shows a stranger looking in my mailbox in the middle of the night. In addition, you can see they work fine looking out of a window. So long as the night vision is turned off.

Good camera, im using it with a 64GB SD card, its been almost a week since I installed it and the card still has over 20GB free space.

Bought this to monitor our front door while away on a trip. Delivery of the item was on time and I got it set up on my android phone in less than a half hour. We bought a 32GB micro SD card for it and positioned the camera to view outside the office window towards our front porch and the picture is very clear at all times of the day! I am able to receive the alerts and view them from my phone and/or laptop. I am also able to view more than the 6 second clip if I want to watch the full footage of the movement. It is easy to save the 6 second clip to the SD card; however it doesn’t save the full footage. But I found out that if I leave that clip in that day’s activities then I can still view the footage. I have set both the sensitivity and alert frequency settings to low and it still picks up passing vehicles but I am okay with that since I am able to delete the unneeded clips easily. I am amazed and pleased that I can be hundreds of miles away and still be able to monitor my front porch. And it’s considerably cheaper than the Ring or Nest products. I am very pleased with this product!!!

The picture quality on this is fantastic! And I love being able to record little videos. We already had a “normal” baby monitor but bought this to help ease our minds when leaving baby with a sitter. We’ve ended up using it a lot more than we thought we would!

Love this camera. Have 5 of them throughout the house and I love that they’re so easy to use. Can see anything that has been caught by it and can always save clips just in case you need it for proof.
